International Meeting on Nursing Excellence: Lessons learned on our journey to ANCC Magnet Recognition®

The Antwerp University Hospital is very pleased to invite a Belgian and international audience to the international meeting on Nursing Excellence with the aim to share experiences of their Magnet® journey with colleagues (leaders, practitioners and researchers) of hospitals in Belgium, Europe and beyond discussing the challenges and the universal character of Magnet®.

The Antwerp University Hospital (UZA) Belgium received ANCC Magnet® recognition in October 2017 after an 8-year journey. The hospital transformed the organizational context of nursing practice embedded in the hospital governance and policy step by step guided by the principles of the Magnet Hospital research and the Magnet® Recognition Program. Mr. Paul Van Aken, Mr. Danny Van heusden and Prof. dr. Peter Van Bogaert are very pleased to invite a Belgian and international audience to the international meeting on Nursing Excellence with the aim to share experiences of their Magnet® journey with colleagues (leaders, practitioners and researchers) of hospitals in Belgium, Europe and beyond discussing the challenges and the universal character of Magnet®Moreover, Mr. Franz Wagner ANCC Magnet Commissioner discusses the international focus of the Magnet® Recognition Program and six European hospitals share their journey. Finally, the Antwerp University Hospital has guided the journey with published research projects and presents the release of a book that underpinned and guided their journey - The Organizational Context of Nursing Practice: Concepts, Evidence and Interventions for Improvement - with the contribution of 11 authors, edited by Prof. dr. Peter Van Bogaert and Prof dr. Sean Clarke and published by Springer Publisher.
