Dear Colleague,

We cordially invite you to a new Antwerp Meets session!

Since Antwerp is the host university for Prof. Peter Libby’s Visting Professorship for the Princess Lilian Foundation, we have fitted our yearly meeting around this honorable event.

The format of our earlier research meetings will be used to provide doctoral students the opportunity to present their work before Prof. Libby. The morning session will be devoted to fundamental cardiovascular research, while the afternoon session will be more clinical and translational. The afternoon session will start by a personal account of Prof. Libby of his astounding career, and provide a mentoring opportunity for all attendees with him.

Prof. Libby has been Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and is Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston. His major research focus is the role of inflammation in vascular diseases such as atherosclerosis. He has a very extensive publication track record and has served in many scientific organisations. He also served as the Editor-in Chief of the 8th Edition of the well-known book Braunwald’s Heart Disease.

It is a privilege to have him in Antwerp for these discussion meetings!

After the meeting, he will also present his inaugural lecture for his Visiting Professorship in the nearby Aula Fernand Nédée at Campus Drie Eiken. Registration for that lecture, and for the walking buffet afterwards, can be made via the UAntwerp link below.

The meetings are open to all who is interested. Looking forward to meeting you in Antwerp!
